Film Genre Research - Ghost Ship

In the movie "Ghost Ship", directed by Steve Beck, the opening scene gives insight into the plot very directly. Beginning with showing the setting being a ship to showing the numerous amounts of people there, the director ensures that the viewer understands how big of a deal this is. Then, the camera goes to a young girl on her own playing with a toy creating the phrase, "I am so bored." which indirectly characterizes how she feels. Once drawn into the dancing floor by an older man, the scene shows everyone around the young girl dying. Camera shots go from wide, inclusive views with many people to a closeup/insert shot of the girl which drew the viewer's attention exactly where the director wanted it. Executive producers, story-maker, and screenplay directors are a few of the titles shown. The film's budget was 20 million dollars and it had a box office revenue of 68.3 million. I cannot find record of any awards won by this film.
