In Scary Movie, the first two minutes highlight a phone conversation of a woman in her home and an unseen individual with dialogue. The conversation goes from a light-hearted small talk to a terrifying speech about who and what is in the woman's house. A few techniques which are highlighted are insert shots of a foil-wrapped item on the oven and close-up of the woman's face as she reacts to what it said over the phone. The sound effects are key as they emphasize when the unknown individual says scary things. The director used props in the form of a phone as well as the food on the oven. A few featured job titles are executive director and editing management. The movie's budget was $19 million. The film made close to $300 million dollars in both box office revenue as well as foreign market sales. Two awards this film won are the MTV Movie Award for Best Cameo and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie of the Summer.
