CCR Question #3 Draft

The evolution of our production skills throughout the process of creating this film was tremendous as the quote, "practice makes perfect" really does apply. The first factor in which I saw strong development over the months was understanding how to use the camera to best highlight the film. In the beginning, it was difficult to decide how best to portray the actors as well as having loud audio. However, as we worked through various issues, it was much easier to choose angles, shots, and movements that fit the theme we were hoping for. Directing actors was a struggle for us in the beginning as our actors were in 5th grade. They struggled to keep a straight face throughout saying lines. Through practice and talking to them about the importance of this project, the issue was resolved which allowed for the great shots of them in the extract. The production design was the most tedious process to learn for us. We had to work diligently in order to understand the editing programs to make the best product. It was hard to make decisions on titles, incidental music, and order of clips. Yet, after working through some options, we began to get into a rhythm to make decisions quickly and efficiently.
